Dr. Tiffany Cooper Gueye Chief Executive Officer BELL Dr. Cooper Gueye began with BELL in 1998 and as former Chief Operating Officer, Field Operations, led all program development, service delivery, assessment and evaluation, and policy-related initiatives. Through her leadership, BELL's programs and evaluation methods have been nationally recognized as best practices in out-of-school time programming (OST), and she is regarded as an authority on OST learning, measurement, and evaluation. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Educational Research, Evaluation and Measurement, both from Boston College.
Gene Guill Deutsche Bank Mr. Guill is a managing director in the loan exposure management group (LEMG) of Deutsche Bank's Global Banking Division. Mr. Guill is the past chairman of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers, and a past president of the New York Chapter of the Risk Management Association. He holds a B.A. from Davidson College and a Ph.D. in economics from Duke University Mr. Guill serves on BELL's finance committee.
Kathleen Kelley Kingdon Capital
Management
Global macro portfolio manager at Kingdon Capital, Ms. Kelley is an experienced hedge fund manager and economist.
Ms. Kelley serves on the board of the Bedford-Stuyvesant "I Have A Dream" Program and the Iris House, a center for women
and children. She holds a B.A. in mathematics and economics from Smith College and a general course diploma from the
London School of Economics. Ms. Kelley serves on BELL's development committee.
John J-H Kim Vice Chair District Management Council
Mr. Kim, founder and chairman of the District Management Council, brings to BELL a wealth of experience growing
educational organizations. Former president and CEO of Rakuten USA , Mr. Kim was also president of Kaplan Learning
Services and was a founder and CEO of Chancellor Beacon Academies. Mr. Kim is vice chair of BELL's board, chair of its
governance committee and serves on the strategy committee.
Deb Knez Richard and Susan
Smith Family Foundation
A trustee of the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation, Ms. Knez is an engaged philanthropist with considerable
experience in non-profit development. She is an overseer of the Boston Children's Museum, a board member of United Way
of Massachusetts Bay, and works closely with the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Ms. Knez sits on BELL's development and
program committees and spearheads BELL's individual giving campaigns.
Donald Manekin Seawall Development Company
Co-founder of Seawall Development Company, Mr. Manekin is a driving force in community-focused real estate
development. He currently sits as regional president and national board member of the National Association of Industrial
and Office Properties and works with civic organizations including Teach for America and the Open Society Institute. Former
chief operating officer of Baltimore City Schools, Mr. Manekin brings substantial experience in education and civic leadership
to BELL's board of directors.
Doug Miller State Street
Executive vice president and manager of State Street's Global Relationship Management Group, Mr. Miller is the head of Investor Services sales for North America. He has been with State Street since 1995. Prior to these roles, Mr. Miller was a key member of the Deutsche Bank integration team, responsible for client retention and relationship management for the transition. Mr. Miller was formerly head of State Street's United States sales and marketing for Investor Services. In this position, he was a member of the Investor Services Executive Operating Group and worked collaboratively across State Street's organization to coordinate key sales activities and marketing initiatives. He also held several sales management positions with IBM Corporation in Rochester, New York, and Boston. Mr. Miller serves on BELL's Program Committee.

Mr. Oberg is a managing director and member of the operating committee at Thomas H. Lee Partners. Prior to joining THL,
Mr. Oberg worked at Morgan Stanley in the Merchant Banking Division and in the Global Strategist's office at Cowen &
Company. He serves on the board of several private companies and is a founding board member of the Canada Wide
Virtual Science Fair. Mr. Oberg serves on BELL's finance committee and chairs the strategy committee.
Prof. Charles Ogletree, Jr.

Chair Emeritus of BELL's board, Professor Ogletree is professor of law at Harvard Law School and founder of the Charles
Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice. A highly-esteemed legal scholar, civil rights lawyer, and leader, Professor
Ogletree is deeply committed to serving public schools and institutes of higher education.
Chris Piela Liberty Mutual

Regional vice president of Montgomery Insurance, a member of Liberty Mutual Group, Mr. Piela brings a wealth of business and financial experience to BELL's board of directors. Former CFO of Specialty Risks at Liberty Mutual, Mr. Piela sits on the governance committee and oversees BELL's fiscal management as chair of its finance committee.
Justin Sadrian Warburg Pincus
Mr. Sadrian is a Partner and Managing Director with Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm in New York City. Prior to joining
Warburg, he worked with JP Morgan's Investment Banking Division and Private Equity group. Mr. Sadrian currently sits on
the board of directors for The Cobalt Group, OnTargetJobs, Centrum.cz, Multiview, Service Repair Solutions, Friends of
Hudson River Park, and CAMP Systems International.
Dr. Lauren Smith Massachusetts
Department of Public Health
Dr. Smith is a pediatric hospitalist and the medical director of the Medical-Legal Partnership for Children at Boston Medical
Center. Focusing her research on the impact of public policy on vulnerable children's health, Dr. Smith also serves as
medical director of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and as associate professor of pediatrics at the Boston
University School of Medicine. Dr. Smith is the chair of BELL's program committee.
Laurene Sperling

BELL's board chair, Ms. Sperling is an accomplished philanthropist with a background in corporate finance and investment
banking. Former vice president at Cowen & Company, Ms. Sperling lends her expertise to universities, independent schools,
and public schools as well as to BELL's development, program and governance committees.
