BELL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: SITE MANAGER
Title SITE MANAGER Location: New York City Reports To: Deputy Director Salary: Competitive
Position Overview: The Site Manager is BELL's school-level Executive Director. The Site Manager is responsible for managing all facets of the BELL program at their school site, particularly ensuring that scholars reach the programmatic goals, that tutors succeed in their jobs, and that relations with parents, teachers and principals are strong. The Site Manager has fiscal responsibility for all school level expenses. This position will begin in the Fall and responsibilities will include running a full-day summer program.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure effective implementation of the BELL After School program model; develop and regularly revisit instructional plans for each scholar cluster based on instructional goals and assessment data; and work to ensure that 100% of scholars achieve proficiency in reading, writing and math.
· Supervise, coach, encourage, and evaluate all Teachers and Tutors in working with small groups of scholars to deliver the BELL curriculum and program model; plan and implement a variety of individual and group events that foster communication, camaraderie and job satisfaction.
· Attend and participate in BELL professional development programs, staff meetings, and other trainings; document and share “lessons learned” with other site managers across the organization.
· Build and manage highly effective relationships with the principal, teachers and parents including monthly meetings with the principal and teachers to discuss individual scholar progress, assessment data and ways to better meet the needs of the scholars and school.
· Build strong relations with parents by leading parent orientations, connecting daily at pick-up time, encouraging participation in celebrations, organizing workshops, community dinners, or other events that increase BELL parent’s connection to and involvement in their child’s school and education.
· Manage site expenses against budget, including adherence to established staffing ratios, while ensuring effective implementation of the BELL program.
Qualifications: · Passionate commitment to BELL’s mission and educational approach. · Minimum 3 years experience in managing a service-based workforce, extended day program workforce, school workforce, or community based youth program workforce. · Experience as a teacher in a public school setting preferred; · Strong interpersonal, team development, organizational and management skills. · Interact easily and effectively with a wide range of people. · Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. · BA required, Masters in Education or Social Work preferred.
