BELL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: SUMMER PROGRAM MANAGER

Summer Program Manager

Position
Overview:
The Summer
Program Manager is responsible for building a strong summer program
team that works well together, overseeing the educational quality of
the program and implementing the program model creating the best
learning environment for the scholars.
Responsibilities:

Participate in the program planning process prior to the start
of the program
- Work with
enrollment on the enrollment site plan.
- Makes
available program staff to assist enrollment pre-site.
- Be a
presence/speaker at parent events during the enrollment process.
- Develop a
calendar that incorporates all aspects of the program while
maximizing instructional time
- Coordinate
all field trips, guest speakers, and the community service
projects
- Work with
the Regional Director to manage the established budget and EAS.
- Develops
and maintain a relationship with the school’s administration
- Establish
spaces within the school for the program and for the management
team’s office

Participate in parent orientation or teacher/tutor interviews as
necessary
- Manage
implementation of the BELL Summer Program model and schedule
- Manage and
evaluate teachers, review lesson plans, hold weekly staff
meetings, and ensure all program elements are followed
- Oversee
daily printing of attendance reports, attendance scanning and
parent phone calls.
- Audit,
organize and ensure that attendance reports and timesheets are
turned into the region weekly per agreed schedule.
- Oversee
scheduled withdrawal of inactive and withdrawn scholars on
agreed schedule and notification of Enrollment Dept of scholar
status changes on a timely basis.
- Oversee
proper teacher: tutor and teacher/tutor: scholar ratios and make
adjustments as necessary
- Work with
enrichment teachers to create streamlined programs that
incorporate and build on academic curriculum
- Manage
evaluation data collection on schedule and with 100% response
rate
- Manage
Edusoft administration from your site (i.e., printing answer
sheets, transcribing answer sheets, scanning answer sheets,
resolving answer sheets, printing reports and driving
instruction based on report data)
- Review
testing results and work with teachers to improve scores/develop
strategies
- Ensure
that progress reports are completed and sent out the 3rd
and final weeks of the program
- Prepare an
educational report at the end of the program
- Coordinate
a parent-teacher conference night as well as teacher/tutor
appreciation
- Work with
the Regional Director to develop plans for the jingle
competition and closing ceremony
- Manage all
field trips, guest speakers, community service projects and
attend all events
- Oversee
all communication with parents and school administration to
ensure they are kept informed of progress and are aware of all
events
- Manage the
timesheet and attendance process for staff
- Handle
serious behavior and disciplinary problems
- Manage the
clean up of the school and removal of all supplies at the end of
the program
- Ensure
safety of scholars at all times
- Manage
compliance
- Perform
other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Uphold the
mission and purpose of BELL
- Minimum 3
years experience in managing a service-based workforce, extended
day program workforce, school workforce, or community based
youth program workforce
- Experience
managing youth programs for 150+ students

Demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning. Bachelors
required - Master in Education preferred
- Proven
ability in staff hiring, supervision, and program management
- Ability to
lead a quality team of teachers and tutors
- Strong
interpersonal skills, communication skills, including writing,
public speaking and presentation skills
- Strong
leadership skills with experience in managing different levels
of staff
