Position Summary |
|
BELL Teacher’s Assistants/Interns support the Summer
Academic Teachers and Enrichment Teachers in providing academic and enrichment lessons to summer scholars. Because TAs/Interns work for the entire day with the scholars- during both the morning academic instruction and the afternoon enrichment instruction- they have the opportunity to provide the scholars with continuity and mentorship, key components of BELL scholars’ success. |

| Major Duties and Responsibilities |
|
- Assist Teacher in classroom set-up and
breakdown each day
- Assist Academic & Enrichment Teachers in
planning and delivery of daily lesson plans
- Lead delivery of some activities as
planned with the Teacher
- Assist Teacher in reviewing and correcting
all homework, quizzes, tests, etc.
- Assist Teacher in evaluating scholars and
preparing progress reports
- Assist in providing classroom behavior
management and behavioral interventions
- Support teacher in administrative tasks
such as attendance checking, photocopying,
and maintenance of classroom supplies
- Assist site administration on all field
trips with scholars
Act as a mentor and role model for
scholars
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements |
|
- Passion for working with urban elementary
school children
- Bachelor’s degree, currently in college,
or some college required
- 1 year or program season of experience
working with an established organization in
education or childcare
- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
