Core Skills/                  As a member of the Training team, the Training Specialist works with the Director of

Responsibilities           Training to support national and regional Training initiatives, including coordination, development and delivery of training.

 

This position involves approximately 40% writing, 25% facilitation, and 35% logistics.

 

National Training Initiatives

·         Work with the Director of Training and Training team to design, develop, and support training across all regions

·         Review, edit, research, write, and update training programs/materials (leaders’ guides, participant materials, PowerPoint presentations, e-learning materials, job aids, video scripts, etc.)

·         Review, edit, and write reports, memos, charts, presentations, emails, etc. to document training progress and communicate about training logistics

·         Deliver training in other regions as needed

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Regional Training

·         Partner with regional BELL staff to support regional training needs

·         Facilitate Orientation, In-Service, and other training for BELL Teachers, Tutors, Site Managers, Lead Teachers, Program Assistants, and other staff

·         Support training logistics as needed

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Support at Training Events

·         Set up and tear down of training events, including classrooms, catering, etc.

·         When not facilitating workshops, support the trainers as needed

·         Assess the facilitation quality of & provide coaching feedback to any per diem trainers

 

 

Requirements              

·         Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s a plus. 

·         Two–three years’ experience delivering interactive, engaging training to adults; excellent facilitation skills required. One year experience assessing, developing, and maintaining training curriculum and materials.  These years of experience do not need to be full time experience.

·         Strong writing & editing skills, reliability, and attention to detail absolutely required.

·         Excellent organizational & communication skills. Positive attitude and sense of humor.  Must be a team player.  Flexible and reliable. Must be able to lift 50-pound boxes. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

·         Up to 20% travel required.

·         Up to 15 weekends per year required.
