JOB TITLE: Grant Writer

BELL Headquarters Development Department is responsible for corporate, foundation and government grant writing, corporate marketing, direct mail, special events, major gifts and communications. The Senior Grant Writer for Foundations and Corporations is responsible for management of new and continuing foundation and corporate funding programs, which includes prospect research and cultivation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Requirements:
- Conduct research to identify prospective corporate and foundation donors whose funding interests relate to BELL programs;
• Capture and manage a database of foundation and corporation activities and funding profiles;
• Craft sophisticated proposals for programs and new initiatives in a timely manner meeting all proposal requirements including budget requests and reports;
• Under the guidance of the Director of Development create and maintain positive relationships with program staff working to achieve development goals;
• Cultivate relationships with foundation and other institutional officers who are responsible for making funding decisions to ensure continued support and ongoing involvement;
• Assist with the development of a strategic foundation plan to obtain large, multi-year institutional gifts;
- Additional targeted writing projects in support of special projects and initiatives
Must have Bachelor’s Degree, 3-5 years of professional experience (diverse communications background a major plus.) Salary is commensurate with experience.
