Local and Culturally Relevant Events this week:

 

 
Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL), the Boston Red Sox and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) honored twenty-five outstanding fifth graders who were selected as Red Sox Scholars in a special on-field ceremony held before the Red Sox faced the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park on Friday, June 9. Sox fan favorites Manny Ramirez , Jonathan Papelbon and David Ortiz were on hand to celebrate with the Red Sox Scholars, who were chosen for their dedication to education, their commitment to their future and their positive attitudes toward school and life.
